The artist writes…"There are many times in our lives that we arrive at a crossroad or a crossing. Directions we take and decisions we make affect our lives from day to day. In producing artworks I often think about the challenges that come with making art from a number of perspectives. Some are obvious and others not so obvious. The question I often ask is "What next…?"
Exploring the ambiguity of 'x' symbols used in the Treaty document, Crosses is infused with the colours of her Ratana faith; blue represents Matua (God), White for Tama (Jesus Christ), and Red references Wairua Tapu (Holy Spirit).
