Born in England in 1950, Pamela Wolfe moved to New Zealand in 1953.
She studied at Elam School of Fine Arts, gaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1970.
Since 1971 her work has been included in several group exhibitions and solo exhibitions from 1976.
In 1985 she was recipient of the Nola Holmwood Memorial Portrait Prize at the Auckland Society of Arts and awarded the Team MacMillan Art Award in 1987.
The decorative borders around many of her works signal that these are works to be enjoyed, not analysed or deeply contemplated. The artist's sunny disposition reinforces this feeling.
