Phillip Trusttum

Born 1940

Phillip Trusttum grew up in Canterbury and studied at the Canterbury School of Fine Arts from 1961 to 1964. He was awarded a QEII Arts Council Scholarship in 1966 and has represented New Zealand on a number of occasions, most notably in 1982 at the Sydney Biennale, in 1984 in New York and again in New York in 1985.

Trusttum lives in South Canterbury and is a prolific and particularly biographical painter: his garden, children's toys, travels and his wife's dressmaking, all appear in his work.
